BAA Successfully Urged Metro to Postpone Geotechnical Boring Work on Chalon Road for One Week
The Bel-Air Association spent much effort last week to urge Metro to postpone their geotechnical boring work as the community recovers from flooding and mudslides. The Bel-Air Association successfully secured a postponement of Metro’s boring work for a week so that the ground can dry out and the community recover from damage caused by the recent torrential rains. Some of the incidents included:
• Clogged storm drains on Stradella caused a lake and flooding. Water eroded hillside and washed onto Somma.
• Hillside mudslide under John Thomas Dye School.
• Erosion under 901 Strada Vecchia causing muddy mess below on Rocca Place.
• Bel-Air community suffered four power outages during the rains.
• Many small slides and fallen trees into the roadways.
